Giving joy is a good feeling and inspires us.
Africa is facing the next developmental step. Every direct educational initiative helps the people in these countries more than anything else.
Yes, the level of poverty is high. Yes, the level of corruption is high. Yes, but… the level of opportunity is higher than ever: If we “help them to help themselves,” the opportunities offered to Africans are even greater to enable people in their own unique countries to hold their ground there the long term.
I have been interested in this continent since I was a young man. The indescribable diversity of nature, cultures and people who, in their deepest material need, know and emit one thing: warmth and unimaginable joy in life. “From nothing to the happiness of Olympus.”
In my opinion, the best book about this fascinating place on earth is: “Oh Africa: Reports from the Heart of a Continent” by Bartholomäus Grill. It shows us an unimaginable changeling world of fascination.
For me, Africa is primarily: Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Ghana. I have always had a passion for Kenya, so we decided to have our first school building in Ukunda, a city on the Indian Ocean.
